Two Lives : Kazakhstan and Ireland

After a thorough search, I managed to stumble upon two blog entries written on the same day. The finding was never that problematic, but I wanted to cover some lesser-in-limelight countries. So, here I am, reporting about two people, one from Kazakhstan and the other from Ireland.

Ireland : Wednesday, December9, 2009
Blogger: Anng :
She describes herself as "I am 25 years old and I live in Seattle. I have big plans and dreams for my future, some of which you may read about and others you may not."
I absolutely love the description, because the words convey the chutzpah of a 25 year existence. :) So, on December 9, she flew to Dublin, in Ireland. Here is the excerpt of her blog post.

"Unfortunately the house numbers in Dublin are not as orderly as they are in the states (or other countries) so as I walked past 20, 83, 72, and 38 (not necessarily those numbers, but in a similar sporadic order) I was beyond frustrated that I couldn’t find 90-92. I ended up asking another hostel for directions (classy I know) and found it around 12:30 (about two hours after my flight had landed). I dropped off my bag and headed out for the New Europe Free Walking Tour."

She seems to be an interesting fellow, on a walking tour to Dublin, from her blog post, it seems, she was travelling from the past three months and December 9, 2009 was her last day of travel. I really liked the idea of walking trips, as the blogger has undertaken across Berlin, Munich, Prague and London.

On the other hand, we have someone from Kazakhstan, a teacher, who's parting with her students. In her rather long and elaborate posts spanning more than 2 days, she tells the readers, what support and admiration she got from her students. She tells more about herself and her new life in the following manner :  "

Not an easy place to live especially after having lived in Kyiv, Ukraine for 6-7 years of the last ten years.  Many similarities, of course, but many differences and that is what my Kazakh Nomad is reporting on. With the 11-12 hour time difference I at first relied on his e-mail reports to keep me updated though we have been able to communicate through Skype sometimes.  Now that I have joined him as of last October 2007, I am able to see for myself all the changes that have occurred in the town of our courtship from 14-15 years ago.  The following blog posts since my arrival are my own impressions and photos of this GREAT country of Kazakhstan!!!"

Here is the excerpt : A female writing student had this sadness to relate:

I was really upset when I saw that you are not in the list of tutors ( exactly in Listening 2). I want to continue studying in your classes. And I’m very gratefull to you for all that you have done for us! Anyway THANK YOU and Happy New Year!!!

I wonder how infinite small incidents shape us and our thinking. They shape our desires and our choices. They shape our reaction to events and our power to change things around us. You could feel the joy of teaching in her posts.

Both the posts, written on the same day, by total strangers, tell us the end and beginning of a new journey. Isn't it? A traveler ending her trip while a teacher parting with her students. Both, the road and the learners, biding a fare-well to the teachers.

Help me continue this journey. Drop me your birthdays and any personal blog posts, we'll see, whether you find someone, who got to the earth the same day and is living an exactly opposite life as yours?
